Georgetown police investigating weekend bank robbery

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Georgetown Police Department is investigating a weekend bank robbery at the Fifth Third Bank on Lawson Drive.

Police said the suspect entered the bank at about 9:40 a.m. Saturday and gave the teller a handwritten note that said he had a gun and was robbing the bank.

The suspect fled the area in a black Ford Fusion, police said. He is described as a middle-aged white man, wearing a red and black flannel shirt, blue jeans and tennis shoes. He was also wearing a gray University of Kentucky hat and a red COVID-19 mask.
