Report: Police identify suspect in Magoffin Street shots fired that damaged home

The Lexington Police Department says they have identified the suspect involved in the shots fired incident that happened early Tuesday morning on Magoffin Street.

An investigation, according to police, led detectives to identify the suspect as 21-year-old Joshua Burgess.

Police say that Burgess has outstanding warrants for first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in connection with the incident.

Anyone with information on Burgess' whereabouts is asked to call police at 859-258-3600. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Bluegrass Crime Stoppers at 859-253-2020.

Police note that the home was damaged but no injuries were reported in the incident.

Lexington police say they are investigating after shots were fired at a home on Magoffin Street early Tuesday morning.

According to police, they were dispatched around 4:47 a.m., and no injuries were reported.

Police say they are continuing to investigate any possible leads on a suspect.
