LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Elizabeth Turpin will not be released from prison after the Kentucky Parole Board denied her request Monday.

The parole board voted to serve out Turpin's sentence, meaning she will not be able to come before the board again, barring court action.

Turpin is serving a life sentence for plotting to kill her husband Michael Turpin in 1986.
Karen Brown, Turpin's girlfriend, was convicted in the case for holding Michael down as he was stabbed to death.
