Deputy hurt in pursuit with burglary suspect

BOON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A northern Kentucky deputy broke his collarbone after chasing a man officers believe burglarized a home and stole items from two cars.

Boone County deputies were called to Secretariat Run in Union, Kentucky on Sunday for a burglary report.

When they arrived, they found several cars had been broken into.

Deputies were later called to a Motel Six and realized that a man and two teens staying in a room there were connected to the burglary.

A deputy that chased on of the suspects ended up breaking his collarbone.

Jacob Scudder, 18, was arrested and charged with burglary, fleeing or evading police, unlawful transactions with a minor and theft.

Both teens were charged with burglary and theft and released to their parents.
