(LEX 18) — A new Quinnipiac University poll shows Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell with a double-digit lead over Democrat Amy McGrath.
The new poll, which was released on Wednesday, said 53% of the 1,164 likely voters who were surveyed in September support McConnell, while 41% support McGrath.
In August, the Quinnipiac poll showed McConnell with a slimmer lead of 49% to 44% over McGrath.
The poll also indicates Trump, who's also on the ballot this fall, will play a significant role in how some Kentuckians vote in the commonwealth's U.S. Senate race, which could be good news for McConnell, who is a part of the same political party as President Trump.
