Free admission to Kentucky Kingdom for first responders this weekend

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18/WAVE) — Kentucky Kingdom is offering free admission to active-duty first responders and their families this weekend before the new HallowScream event begins on October 4, according to WAVE.

Police officers, firefighters, EMT's and their families have been welcomed to come anything during Hurricane Bay's final weekend, which is September 28 and September 29.

"Our first responders give so much to all of us, working long hours and devoting their best efforts to protect the safety and health of this community," said President and CEO of Kentucky Kingdom, Ed Hart.

"Their support of Kentucky Kingdom, which has not wavered since our grand opening back in May of 2014, has also been a key ingredient in the park's success. It is with great pleasure and sincere thanks that we offer them a day to relax and have fun with their families at Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay," Hart added.

The hours at Kentucky Kingdom for Saturday and Sunday is 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Hurricane Bay is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Some water attractions will be closed at Hurricane Bay.
