Georgetown PD K-9 receives emergency stomach surgery

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (LEX 18) — Boomer, K-9 of Georgetown Police Department, was taken to Central Kentucky Vet with a swollen stomach Tuesday morning. Georgetown Police Department says he was diagnosed with gastric torsion and received emergency surgery, correcting his stomach tissue. This medical condition is usually fatal for dogs.

Georgetown Police Department says Boomer is now recovering. The doctors are optimistic about his recovery.
