GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. (LEX 18) — A woman from Georgetown who now lives in Florida is preparing for Hurricane Dorian.

Stephanie DeLoach and her husband live in Green Cove Springs, 23 miles from the coast. Deloach told LEX 18 that gas stations are running out of gas and that food is scarce on the shelves. Buildings all over town are boarded up and the tides are getting stronger.

This is the first hurricane DeLoach has experienced since moving to Florida.

"This is very testing. It's a lot different obviously than what I'm used to. It's going to be one of those things that you just have to ride out and see how it goes," said DeLoach.

She will take shelter at a nearby school to ride out the storm.

Evacuations are being ordered up and down the coast, including South Carolina. If you are a Kentuckian evacuating or if you are riding out the storm, shoot us an email at news@lex18.com.
