Governor Andy Beshear posted the following statement on X on Wednesday morning regarding the U.S. service members killed in attacks by Iran:

We have learned that at least four of the soldiers killed in the Iran attacks were assigned to an Iowa unit operating under the 1st Theater Sustainment Command out of Fort Knox. We grieve with the families of the lost and hope they know that Kentucky cares for and supports them.

Kentucky Representative Andy Barr reported that the service members were stationed at Fort Knox in Kentucky. He released the following statement:

Today, we mourn six soldiers stationed at Fort Knox who gave the ultimate sacrifice in Operation Epic Fury. We pray for their families and for all those still in the fight. May God watch over our troops and bring them home safely.
