FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Hospital restrictions across the country are getting stricter and stricter.

Lexie Brough, a mother in Franklin County recently brought in her new baby into the world on March 19.

"It was fast and easy," Brough said of the birth.

While the birth went as plan, the setting wasn't how she pictured it. Because of the coronavirus outbreak, Brough was told she couldn't have any visitors and only her husband, Jay, would be allowed at the hospital.

"I was very upset," Brough reflected." I looked at the doctor and I said every first-time mom is going to want their mom there."

Lexie's mother, Nicole, would have to wait until her daughter and husband got home to meet her grandchild. However, Brough's was there on Facetime through the whole process.

"She had balloons and everything set up outside as we pulled up and honked the horn," Brough reflected. "Her and my mother-in-law were actually waiting outside crying.

Brough's doctor told her that in a couple weeks, restrictions may get even tighter and that husbands could possibly not be allowed in.
