MONTICELLO, Ky. (LEX 18) — Kentucky State Police have confirmed that a death investigation is underway in Wayne County.
According to a press release, KSP Post was contacted by Wayne County 911 to assist in a shooting investigation at an apartment complex in Monticello.
A preliminary investigation has found that Christopher Polston, 30, entered the apartment of his estranged child's mother, Mandy Kinnett, 37.
Police found the bodies of Polston and Kinnett and they have been sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.
The cause of death is pending as of Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, there are no suspects believed to be involved in the incident.
