FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — Gov. Andy Beshear announced on Monday that Kentucky is now up to 22 cases of the coronavirus.

The one new case is a 34-year-old female from Jefferson County.

Beshear also asked that all child care centers close by Friday.

"That is going to give parents this week to make sure they can take the steps they need," Beshear said. "We are going to have some exceptions in the policy to healthcare workers. There is going to be some onsite employer exceptions. I know it is going to be hard. Everything I have announced the last three days is going to be hard, but it is all necessary and I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't believe we had to do it."
