MIAMI (NBC MIAMI) — A Louisville woman has been hospitalized after a popular cosmetic procedure.
According to NBC Miami, Dawn Bumphus was hospitalized after having Brazilian butt lift. The Louisville woman drove to Florida to have surgery. The procedure removes fat from unwanted areas and injects the fat into the patient's buttocks.
It appeared that Dawn suffered a puncture wound in her internal organs.
The cosmetic procedure is controversial. There have been numerous documented cases of complications.
Dawn is in the ICU at a Miami hospital.
