ANDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Kentucky State Police are reminding drivers to be extra aware of their surroundings while on the road - especially in a construction zone - one day after a wreck in Anderson County that injured three construction workers.

The crash happened around 4 p.m. on Tuesday on the Bluegrass Parkway near mile marker 51, not far from the Anderson-Mercer County line.

Officials said that it appears that Dillan Waldridge could not stop when traffic slowed down and went into the construction zone to avoid a crash.

That's when, according to officials, his SUV hit the three workers that were paving the road.

Lucas Guinn and Ronald Bickers were taken to the University of Kentucky Hospital and are in critical condition.

John Wayne Conway was treated at the scene and released.
