Lafayette High School Band wins Bands of America 2019 Johnson City Regional Championship

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (LEX 18) — Congratulations are in order for the Lafayette High School Band.

They won the Bands of America 2019 Johnson City Regional Championship on October 12.

Fayette County Public Schools say the band received nods for Outstanding Music Performance and Outstanding General Effect in a competition that includes 31 bands in Class A through AAAA from eight states.

Estill County High finished in 8th place overall, with this being their first time competing in the Bands of America Regional Championship. They received nods for Best Music in Class A, Best Visual in Call A, and Best Overall Effect in Class A.
