FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Kentucky lawmaker has prefiled a bill that would force school children to use restrooms and locker rooms based on their biological sex.

This is seen as another push for a so-called "Bathroom Bill" in the Commonwealth.

State Rep. David Hale's Kentucky Student Privacy Act would also require schools to provide separate facilities for students who identify with another gender. It would also require schools to come up with consequences for those students who do not comply.

Hale filed a similar, broader bill in 2018, which did not make it past committee.
