LEX18 receives six Emmy nominations

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — LEX18 has garnered six Emmy nominations in the 56th Annual Ohio Valley Regional Emmy Awards—the most nominations by any station in the Lexington TV market.

12 people from LEX18 were honored with nominations for work produced in 2019 in the following categories:

Special Event Coverage: The 145th Running of the Kentucky Derby (Jennifer Smith, Nancy Cox, Claire Kopsky, Katherine Shepherd)

Politics/Government Program: State of the Commonwealth (Conroy Delouche, Conor McCue, Sydney DeLong, Brian Gilbert)

Investigative Report/Single Story: A Mother's Quest For Justice (Leigh Searcy Dotson, Tyler Ross)

Sports/News: Bluegrass Ironman: The Lisle Adams Story (Kylen Mills)

Promotion/Program: "Time" LEX18 at the Derby (Dave Medley, Nancy Cox)

Writing/Short Form: "Time" LEX18 at the Derby (Dave Medley)

Winners will be announced during a virtual Emmy gala on October 4th. The NATAS Ohio Valley Emmy chapter honors work by television professionals in Lexington, Louisville, and Bowling Green, KY; Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus, OH; Charleston/Huntington, WV; and Evansville and Terre Haute, IN.
