LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Crews with the Lexington Fire Department have put out a large fire on Georgetown Place.

The fire started around 11:20 Monday night. When crews arrived, they found a large fire and upgraded it to a two-alarm fire. The fire is directly across from the BCTC Newtown Campus and the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department in an unoccupied building that used to be a church.

At one point, twenty crews worked to put out the fire.

The fire was under control as of 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Firefighters tell LEX 18 that no one was inside the building during the fire and no one was hurt.

So far, firefighters say they do not know what may have caused the fire, but they are investigating.
