LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Lexington Hospital for Cats is collecting donations for the cats located at the Lexington Humane Society.

The donations can include cat food, supplies, or monetary donations. The monetary donations will go to the American Veterinary Medical Foundation's Veterinary Care Charitable Fund.

The benefit, called Angel Cat Tree, has collected over $18,000 in donations over the past 12 years.

If you would like to donate, stop by the hospital, which is located at 271 Southland Drive in Lexington.

You can then pick an ornament off the Angel Cat Tree that will have information on the back regarding the items that are needed.

"Providing homeless cats with some basic comforts like canned cat food, treats, and toys lets them know that someone loves them," said Dr. Alice Mills, who is the owner of the Lexington Hospital for Cats. "It gives them home for a forever home."

Donations for the Lexington Humane Society will be collected from Dec. 2, 2019 through Jan. 3, 2020.

Donations for the Veterinary Care Charitable Fund are collected all year and can be submitted here.
