The Lexington Police Department has identified the suspect in the Boxwood Drive shooting on Monday that left one person injured.

Police identified the shooting suspect as 39-year-old Leonard Slaughter. He was reportedly arrested at the scene and has been charged with two counts of first-degree assault and first-degree wanton endangerment.

Police detailed that the shooting occurred at around 3 a.m. in the 1100 block of Boxwood Drive. Upon arrival, police found a shooting victim who was taken to an area hospital with reported non-life-threatening injuries.
