The Lexington Police Department reported that a 20-year-old was arrested in connection to a reported robbery that led to an officer-involved shooting in Lexington early Monday morning.
Police reported that Jaylin Clark was arrested and has been charged with first-degree wanton endangerment (police officer); third-degree carjacking, fleeing, or evading police; possession of a firearm by convicted felon; and an unrelated warrant.

During a press conference, Lexington police provided additional details on the officer-involved shooting that occurred on Lakeshore Drive at around 2 a.m. Monday.
According to police, officers were called to the 2000 block of Cambridge Drive on a reported robbery. Upon arrival, police learned that an individual had allegedly stolen a car. Officers then located the car at an apartment complex on the 100 block of Lakeshore Drive.
The suspect, allegedly carrying a rifle, fled from police on foot. During the pursuit, police reported that the suspect fired the rifle and an officer fired his agency issued firearm. Police stated that no one was hit by gunfire, however, the suspect reportedly sustained minor injuries from the foot pursuit.
The reported suspect is in custody after being released from the hospital.
The officer involved has been placed on administrative assignment as authorities continue to investigate the shooting.
