Lexington Universal Academy evacuated after reported bomb threat, police confirm

The Lexington Police Department confirms that the Lexington Universal Academy has evacuated as a precaution for a reported bomb threat on Friday morning.

Police say that parents and guardians of students are asked to follow the traffic officers to reach the reunification location.

Lexington police say they are on the scene of an "active situation" near the 4500 block of Nicholasville Road on Friday morning.

LEX 18 reached out to the Lexington Fire Department, which confirmed they responded to the area regarding a reported bomb threat.

Police say the right inbound lane of Nicholasville Road is temporarily shut down.

LEX 18 has a crew on the scene who says students are being evacuated from the Lexington Universal Academy and loaded onto buses.

No other information has been released.
