Lexington's Festival Latino kicks off Friday

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Festival Latino de Lexington will kick off this Friday in Lexington.

Mayor Linda Gorton, Councilmember Jennifer Reynolds and members of the Foundation for Latin American and Latin Culture and Arts will kick off the celebration which will run from Sept. 13 -15.

The Festival Latino de Lexington celebrates the 18th anniversary of honoring Hispanic Heritage month. Come join us,” Reynolds said. “Muchas Culturas. Una Ciudad. Many Cultures. One City.”

The festival features live music, dance, visual arts and authentic cuisine. Friday night is tropical night, and will include authentic Latin foods, live music and dancing.

The Friday and Saturday celebration is on the Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza, downtown at 120 N. Limestone St. On Sunday from 1-5 p.m., there will be a health fair from 1-5 p.m. at Masterson Station Park.
