LEXINGTON, KY- — Over the weekend 13 year-old Brooke Dawahare took strides to her ultimate goal of someday playing for the US Women's National Soccer team.

The LCA 8th grader has been playing for the US soccer development academy team in Cincinnati and was recently one of 62 selected to the National Team U14 ID Camp in Dallas. In doing so, she joins an elite group of soccer players from Lexington to compete in ID camp. Arin Gilliland and Destinie Graves were two others that attended before committing to Kentucky.

"She's going to be with players that have the same goals and aspirations as her," said trainer Michelle Rayner. "It's really going to challenge her."

The camp took place from March 4-8. Once completed the talent will be evaluated and players will be selected into the older U-15 to U-20 YNTs.
