Transylvania got to celebrate twice today on their home floor, as both the men's and women's teams won the HCAC regular season title.
The men's defeated Bluffton 73-64 to win their first HCAC conference title since 2013.
Gabe Schmitt led the Pioneers with 22 points. Michael Jefferson added in 20.
Bluffton shot a better percentage from the floor and out-rebounded Transy, but the stat that made the difference? Turnovers.
Transy turned Bluffton over 16 times while only committing seven of their own. This allowed Transy to get up nine more shots than Bluffton.
The Pioneers finish the regular season with a 17-8 record.
On the women's side the Pioneers beat Bluffton 70-56 to capture the HCAC regular season championship.
