RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. (WNKY/LEX 18) — A Logan County mother has been taken to jail after police said her son gave his friend meth, that belonged to her, and caused the friend to end up in the hospital.

According to WNKY, Dana Johnson, 35, has been charged with several crimes including wanton endangerment in the first degree and trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree.

Authorities with the South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force and the Logan County Sheriff's Office said that Johnson's son gave the meth to a 13-year-old friend on a school bus. WNKY reported that the friend then snorted the meth on the bus and had to be taken to the hospital.

Police went to Johnson's home in Russellville and found a black lockbox containing approximately seven grams of suspected meth, two glass smoking devices, a digital scale and butane lighters, according to WNKY.

Johnson was arrested and taken to the Logan County Detention Center.
