Madison County reports second case of COVID-19

RICHMOND, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Madison County Health Department announced a second confirmed case of COVID-19 on Sunday. The patient is currently in isolation and recovering at home.

On Saturday, Madison County reported its first confirmed case of COVID-19.

"As we continue to recommend, there are everyday preventative actions you can take to help prevent the spread of this virus," Madison Coutny Public Health Director Nancy Crewe said in a press release. "Be sure to comply with Governor Andy Beshear’s social distancing guidelines and watch his regular press conferences on his Facebook page and television for updates on COVID-19.”

As of Sunday at 9 a.m., there are 99 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Kentucky.

Gov. Andy Beshear is set to give another update on COVID-19 in the state of Kentucky at 5 p.m. LEX 18 will be carrying the press conference live on Facebook.
