BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Deputies responded to the scene of a one-car crash in Boone County, but later made an arrest in a string of burglaries that didn't stop with the wreck.

When police arrived to the scene on Friday, they found that the driver had fled.

They later found that the driver was Jason L. Konerman, 37, and officers said the suspect had just finished burglarizing a home before the wreck.

After the wreck, police said that Konerman broke into two more homes, before being chased away by the owners.

Police have also accused him of stealing a truck, which he allegedly crashed through an iron gate.

According to the citation, one of the burglary victims ultimately found Konerman and held him at gunpoint until deputies arrived.

Konerman has now been faced with several charges, including burglary and auto theft.
