LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE/LEX 18) — A man has been charged with murder after a crash left a woman dead.
WAVE reported that police said Nolan Wood, 21, was driving north on Dixie Highway when he hit a car that was turning out of Shorty's Food Mart.
The accident happened on Sunday night.
According to WAVE, the impact caused the victim's vehicle to spin multiple times and the victim was ejected from the vehicle.
The victim, who was a female, was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital, where she died Monday morning.
Officials have not identified the victim.
Wood is being held in the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections with a $50,000 full cash bond.
Wood has been charged with the follow charges:
- Murder
- Reckless driving
- Failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security - first offense
- Assault in the first degree
- Operating a vehicle under the influence - first offense
