LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police said a man was riding one of the new electric scooters and was hit by a car on Saturday morning.
The accident happened on South Limestone near Washington Avenue just before 2:30 a.m.
Police said the man on the scooter was going down South Limestone when a car driving the same way hit him from behind.
The man hit the windshield of the car and was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police arrested the driver of the car on a DUI charge.
The new electric scooters appeared in Lexington on Monday.
