LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A man was taken to jail after being accused of attacking his roommate in his sleep.
Police originally investigated the incident last month when the victim showed up at the hospital. At the time, the victim told police someone broke into his house and assaulted him.
However, 15 days later, the victim contacted police and claimed he was actually attacked by his roommate, 27-year-old Izabayo Innocent. The victim said he originally lied because Innocent was in the room during questioning.
The victim alleged that Innocent became angry and punched him several times in the face before throwing him to the ground and hitting him with a television. The victim suffered broken ribs and vision problems in the attack.
Innocent is being charged with felony assault and is being held in the Fayette County Jail under a $10,000 cash bond.
