WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — The man who police said was planning a mass shooting in Washington County last fall is back in court on Wednesday.
Last November, an employee at LB Manufacturing noticed a man outside the building and called 911.
Police said Matthew Smith told them he was planning an attack at LB Manufacturing, which is a large factory located in Springfield.
When police arrived, they arrested Smith after they said he pointed a gun at an officer.
Police also said that Smith had a car full of guns and ammunition.
Smith is scheduled for a pretrial conference Wednesday afternoon in Washington Circuit Court.
