LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The city of Lexington wants feedback on proposals to allow accessory dwelling units, or ADU's. These are secondary housing units built on the same lot as the main home.
These accessory units provide the basic requirements of shelter, heating, cooking and sanitation.
Lexington's Division of Planning has a proposal that allows ADU's of up to 800 square feet on all urban, single-family residential lots in the city.
This would be limited to one ADU per lot. Detached ADU's must be built behind the main home.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Lexington Senior Center.
