CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Clay County mother charged after a boy was hurt in the so-called "Hot Water Challenge" was back in court on Monday.
Investigators said the victim was staying at a friend's house when he woke up to the friend pouring boiling water on him, similar to a challenge on social media.
The mother of the friend, 42-year-old Angela Guth, was charged for not seeking immediate medical attention for the little boy.
Guth was scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Monday.
