Florida funeral home invites public to services for veteran with no family

SARASOTA, Fla. — You can give thanks to a veteran for his service to America on Tuesday, October 1.

Edward Karl Pearson of Naples, Florida, died August 31 at the age of 80.

The funeral home coordinating services says Pearson passed away with no immediate family to attend his funeral. Legacy Options is now inviting the public to attend his internment at Sarasota National Cemetery.

The public service will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the cemetery, which is located at 9810 State Road 72 in Sarasota.

Solorzanos Late Night Pizzeria in Sarasota, Florida, is offering a free small cheese pizza to anyone who shows up to the funeral in support of Pearson.
