LOUISVILLE (WRTV) — Kentucky Kingdom has been given the green light by the state's governor to reopen at the end of June and they're also lowering their admission prices.

The amusement park will open on June 29, 2020 with plans to open Hurricane Bay water park "shortly thereafter." The exact dates for Hurricane Bay's reopening have not been decided.

General admission tickets for the park will be $29.95 and you can purchase a season pass for the rest of the 2020 season for just $49.95.

As part of their reopening plan, the park will have enhanced sanitizing and cleaning procedures and safety protocols.

“Everyone has a role during these trying times. Kentucky Kingdom’s role is to provide opportunities for summer employment to many high school and college students,' Ed Hart, President and CEO of Kentucky Kingdom said. "Equally important, our role is to bring smiles and safe family fun back into the community. That’s what Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay is all about.”

While over 15,000 guests have already purchased a season pass for 2020, Hart said the park plans to honor those "early bird" passes for this season and for the 2021 season as well.

“We are especially grateful to our loyal season pass holders who have been so patient as we awaited notice from the Governor's task force on reopening the park. We want to thank these pass holders for their patience by honoring their "early bird" season passes not only for the 2020 season, but for the 2021 season as well," Hart said.
