Officials told LEX 18 that one person was airlifted to UK Hospital following a crash involving a semi on Tuesday morning in Fleming County.

According to officials, when arriving on the scene, it was determined that the semi was hauling "liquid ammonia" and was believed to have leaked from the tanker.

Officials say that one passenger walked away with a minor injury, and the driver was entrapped and had to be rescued, then airlifted.

Officials add that two first responders were also treated for their injuries.

According to officials, the Kentucky Environmental Safety is on the scene with the hazmat team cleaning up, and the roadway is expected to be closed for 10 hours due to the "ammonia leak."
