LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — An 8-year-old girl is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after she was hit by a car in Lexington.
Police were called to the intersection of Tates Creek Road and Gainesway Drive at around 3:00 p.m. Thursday. Police say the girl was in the crosswalk with her family when a car hit the child.
The girl was taken to the hospital for what is believed to be life-threatening injuries.
Police tell LEX 18 that the driver who hit the girl stayed at the scene and is cooperating. The collision reconstruction unit is now investigating what happened and will determine if charges will be filed against the driver.
