Police: 2 arrested after children found in unfit living conditions

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Officers in Laurel County arrested two people on Monday on charges of criminal abuse.

When officers arrived on the scene, they made contact with the residents and, upon entry to the residence, decided that the living conditions were unfit for anyone to live in.

According to police, the floors were covered in trash and spoiled food.

Deputies found that four children, aged between two and 12, were living in those conditions.

The parents of the children were arrested.

Christopher Bowling, 39 of London, was charged with four counts of criminal abuse in the third-degree. In addition to those charges, Christopher was also charged with failure to appear in court on numerous traffic violations.

Brandy Bowling, 34 of London, was charged with four counts of criminal abuse in the third degree.

Social services was called to the scene and took custody of the children.

Christopher and Brandy were taken to the Laurel County Correctional Center.
