Police: Man arrested after allegedly hitting 2 vehicles, assaulting deputy

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Colorado man was arrested in Laurel County over the weekend after allegedly hitting two vehicles and then assaulting a deputy.

Deputies were called to I-75 South near Corbin after receiving calls that a speeding driver had hit two vehicles.

John Alfred Schell, 28 from Colorado, was arrested after deputies said he was under the influence.

While in custody, deputies said Schell slipped his handcuffs off and hit a deputy in the face.

Schell is now charged with two counts of assault, escape, operating a vehicle under the influence and other charges.
