KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Knox County man has been sent to jail after officials said he took a child during a fight and hid with her outside in the rain.

Officials were called to a home on Alex Creek Road in Flat Lick on Monday morning in connection to a domestic violence call.

When deputies arrived, they said they discovered Christopher Stoots had left the home and taken a 3-year-old girl with him out into the pouring rain.

Deputies searched the area for an hour and later found the toddler alone in the woods crying. The toddler was not wearing a coat.

Stoots was found a short time later and was taken into custody. He has been faced with multiple charges.
