LOUISVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the shooting death of a Louisville ROTC student.

Lucius Adams, 22, has been charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon for the incident, which happened on Saturday, Dec. 7.

Adams has been accused of killing Jacob Kerr, 20, who was an ROTC student who had plans to join the Marines in August.

Police said that Adams went to his ex-girlfriend's house where Kerr also lived.

Police also said that Adams shot Kerr in the chest, then grabbed the shell casings and ran away.

Kerr was described by neighbors as someone who cared about the community. He started a nonprofit with his father to provide service dogs to veterans.
