GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police in western Kentucky have arrested a man from Puerto Rico wanted on a sexual assault charge.
Police said Noel Medina, 34, was recently identified as a suspect in a 20-year-old cold case out of Florida.
Medina has been charged with sexual battery, burglary with assault and aggravated assault.
He was also convicted of an unrelated sex crime in Puerto Rico.
Investigators got a tip that he had been staying at an apartment in Mayfield, Kentucky and they began surveillance of the location.
Police said Medina was arrested on Friday as he attempted to flee.
Medina now awaits extradition to Florida.
