BOURBON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police were called to Bourbon County Middle School after rumors circulated that a student had brought a gun to school.

According to the school resource officer, who is also a deputy with Bourbon County, a student had reported that another student had a gun and was making threats.

The police were called and the school was put on a lock down.

A fire drill had been planned for tomorrow, but the school went ahead and did it today. During the fire drill, a K9 was taken through the building to double check and make sure it was safe for students to return.

Conroy Delouche with LEX 18 was on the scene during the fire drill and said it was calm and very under control.

Police found no evidence in the building to deem it unsafe, so students have returned to their classes.
