LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police had to control the crowd along South Limestone early Sunday morning out of fear about a shooting right outside of a popular college hangout.

Police said a fight inside of Two Keys Bar spilled out into the street around 2 a.m. Then, rumors started circulating among the crowd that there had also been a shooting.

Those rumors were fueled by reports of a victim who showed up at the emergency room, but police said that person had a broken foot and it was not clear if he was involved in the fight.

Police found no evidence of a shooting and no victim.

But, police did close the street until everything was back under control.
