LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) — A man is facing sexual abuse charges after authorities said he assaulted a disabled woman who was riding in his taxi cab, according to WAVE.

WAVE reported that, according to an arrest slip for a man named Ismael Omer, the woman was picked up in his cab, outside Downs Syndrome of Louisville for a ride home.

On the way home, police said that Omer pulled over in an unknown location, got in the back seat with the woman and sexually assaulted her. Omer, according to WAVE, then returned to the driver's seat and returned the woman to her home.

When the woman got home, witnesses said they saw her and she was upset, so they called police.

Authorities said the victim 'has a profound intellectual disability,' according to WAVE.

Omer has been charged with second degree sexual abuse and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
