The Toledo Zoo has welcomed a new baby orangutan to the world Thursday.

The zoo says Fajar, whose name means "dawn" or "start of a new day," was born on October 12 to parents Leela and Bajik.

Officials at the zoo the mom and baby remain in an off-exhibit area for now with dad nearby as they continue to bond. A public debut date has not been set.
