LOUISVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — It's wheels down in the Bluegrass as Air Force One touched down in Louisville, Ky.
President Donald Trump is making two stops in Louisville, Kentucky today. The first stop is the 75th annual AMVETS Convention, where he will be speaking to around 2,000 veterans.
LEX 18 has a crew on the scene and the room is ready and the stage is set. His speech is expected to be around 3 p.m.
The crowd during the speech will consist of the members of AMVETS, which is a non-partisan volunteer group that advocates for military veterans.
Some people said they are here to hear him specifically address the issues. They want to get answers about what he's doing to address the big problems that veterans are dealing with.
"I'm not here to be pandered to. I want to hear what you're going to do to help these veterans. I'm not here to hear you tout yourself. I want to hear our plan going forward because there's still a lot of work to be done," said Alex Conley, an AMVETS member.
Others hope to hear some classic Trump rhetoric.
"He tells you like it is. There's no if or buts around it. It's 'this is the way it is' and he's not afraid to tell you how it is. I like that," said Rebecca Roese.
