PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Pulaski County constable is facing new charges after authorities say he opened fire on FBI agents while they attempted to arrest him last week.

Gary Baldock, 56, had already been indicted on a charge of conspiracy to violate civil rights. Baldock is alleged to have schemed with constable Michael Wallace to injure, oppress threaten and intimidate people by conducting unreasonable searches and seizures.

In a criminal complaint affidavit, special agent David Lowry says agents showed up wearing clothing identifying themselves as law enforcement and had the emergency lights on their vehicles activated. The agents also noted they were with the FBI.

While Wallace surrendered, Lowry says Baldock opened fire on the agents. One agent was injured during the shooting. Baldock was also hit when agents returned fire.

Baldock is facing charges of aggravated assault of a federal law enforcement officer and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence.
