FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Democratic lawmaker who recently announced that he would not seek re-election to the state House has set his sights on a different branch of government.
93rd District Representative Chris Harris, who represents Martin County and part of Pike County, announced his decision on Friday.
Harris said he will run for the 7th District Supreme Court seat that is being held by Justice Samuel Wright.
He said he would file paperwork to run for the office on Tuesday.
As of Sunday morning, no one else has filed for the seat.
